It’s estimated Google processes over 40,000 searches every second. And in 2015, this totalled to around 1.2 trillion searches for the entire year.  Of those searches, only about 15% are completely unique (yeah, you’re not the only one wondering how to make your cat love you).

So after Googling how many zeros there are in a trillion, we worked out that this means there’s still over a trillion searches each year that Google has seen before. This is important because Google uses this data to determine your auto-complete suggestions (alongside a few other bits and bobs in their algorithms). Popularity is a key factor though, so any suggestions you see are real searches that have been made by other people. This of course garners some oddly terrifying results…
