Summary: A while ago, Google made HTTPS a minimal ranking signal and many SEO companies and webmasters moved to update all their URLs in the hope of seeing some ranking improvements from this. However, it has been a while and many webmasters have not seen or experienced ranking improvements from this update and many webmasters are migrating back to HTTP. Summary: Pinterest announced this week that it has acquired a marketing startup product that specialises in personalised product recommendations. The technology is able to map the 400 relationships between 30 million products to help Pinterest gain a better understanding of customer intent. Pinterest believes it will be able to help brands reach more people with relevant targeted ads.

Title: The highest YouTube earner of 2014 made nearly $5 million just by opening Disney toy packages

Summary: An unidentified individual or group responsible for uploading videos that simply show a woman opening Disney toys made an estimated $4.9 million last year, more than any other channel for 2014, according to OpenSlate, a video analytics platform that analyses ad-supported content on YouTube. Created in 2012, DC Toys Collector channel now features more than 1,600 videos and gets 380 million views a month.
